Prof. Patrizio Lancellotti, MD, PhD, FESC, FACC, is Head of the Cardiology Department at the University Hospital of Liège, Belgium. He is an expert in Cardiovascular Imaging, in Valvular Heart Disease, and Interventional Structural Heart Disease. He is the current President Elect of the Belgian Society of Cardiology and Vice-Chairman of the European Society of Cardiology Council on Valvular Heart Disease. Prof. Lancellotti is involved in several journal editorial boards and is Associate Editor of the European Heart Journal and of the European Heart Journal of Cardiovascular Imaging.
Prof. Lancellotti’s primary research focus is in the field of Valvular Heart Disease and Imaging with the goal of improving understanding of the mechanism associated with the progression of the disease and to better stratify patients who may develop cardiovascular events. He has received an European Research Consolidator Grant for preventing thrombosis of prosthetic heart valev.
Prof. Lancellotti has authored / co-authored over 500 publications, and presented more than 200 abstracts on innovative research. He has served as Editor/co-Editor of several major books on Cardiac-Oncology, Echocardiography, Multi-imaging Modality and Management of Valvular Heart Disase.
